The Enduring Appeal of Women’s Groups
Not too long ago my little daughter Carrie and I were watching a movie on TV about the first women to march for women’s right to vote. She was fascinated by the groups of ladies, standing arm-in-arm. I explained that they were like a club made up of friends who all wanted the same thing. She thought about it and commented that it sounded just like the women’s groups I belonged to online. Carrie often heard me talking about my Internet friends and their struggles or victories. My daughter made a very good point. Women standing together to accomplish something is an enduring idea. I told her that is because it works.
