Using Rainwater Tanks to Put Out Forest Fires
Our local fire department has come up with a way to have plenty of water on hand in case a forest happens to break out. They have joined with several local farmers that have given them permission to place rainwater tanks on their property. If a fire happens to occur out in the country, the fire trucks can get to the tanks more quickly if they happen to run short of water while trying to put out the fire. This will also be very beneficial to those people who live outside the city limits and may suffer from a home fire.
